The Boo-Boo Bandage Brigade Bonanza (5B’s) is an artful, community-driven action to heal the everyday “ouchies” of Downtown LA — broken sidewalks, missing curb ramps, and other hazards — while building momentum for long-term fixes.
Led by Public Matters, FASTLinkDTLA, and Los Angeles Walks, and hosted by CALIF, the Bonanza blends creativity, advocacy, and direct engagement with city leaders to push for safer, more accessible streets, particularly for people with disabilities and mobility impairments.
Palliative care is not enough—our city deserves lasting solutions for everyone to walk and roll safely.
Giant, brightly colored bandages will mark the infrastructure “ouchies” in the area from the Maldef Building on Spring St. to 4th, down to Main and over to 7th St. Preview the “ouchies” here
Led by civic leaders, including people with disabilities and local business owners, take a tour of the “ouchies” to understand what it's like to traverse these streets on a daily basis.
Join us to make a clear, visible statement that we need to fix LA’s infrastructure and its systems for good. Hear from leaders and experts on how to get it done.
Press Conference at The 5B’s Field Office, MALDEF Building featuring teach-ins on possible solutions and initiatives for long-term infrastructure improvements.
Ever wonder how to make a sidewalk repair happen or how to tackle LA’s infrastructure ouchies on a more systemic level? We got you. We’ll have experts ready to share strategies and steps on how to get things done.
The Bonanza will kick off what we hope will be a broader, coalition-building Boo-Boo Bandage Brigade that pushes to “fix for good” our city’s infrastructure ouchies.
